- 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
- 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
- .5 teaspoon salt
- 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, room temperature
- .75 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- .5 cup buttermilk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 pound strawberries, hulled, halved
- 1 tablespoon powdered sugar
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Grease 9″ round pan.
- Combine flour, baking powder, salt; set aside.
- Cream sugar and butter. Mix in eggs, then vanilla and buttermilk.
- Add flour mixture; combine at low spped.
- Transfer to cake pan. Arrange strawberries on top, cut side down.
- Bake 50-55 minutes.
- Sift powdered sugar on top before serving.
